How the drawing is made

I read your order and any note before I begin, then I work in pencil on a clean sheet. I let the drawing take its own shape rather than following a plan. When a face comes, I draw it. When symbols come instead, or alongside it, I keep them. The drawing is finished when it feels complete, not when it matches an expectation. I treat this question with care because it touches something private. Your note is used for your drawing and nothing else. You are never expected to explain more than you chose to write, and a short note is as welcome as a long one.

What you receive

Once the drawing is done, a digital image of the finished pencil drawing goes by email to the address you used at checkout. The pencil texture and the small marks of the work remain visible in the image. If you are ordering as a couple, make sure the checkout email is one you both can see, or agree who will share it.

How long it takes

What a future child drawing cannot do

It cannot tell you whether you will conceive, carry a pregnancy or become a parent. It cannot tell you the sex, appearance, health or timing of any child. It cannot replace the advice of a doctor, midwife, fertility clinic, adoption agency or counsellor, and it should never be used to make a medical decision or to delay seeking care.

It also cannot carry the weight of grief on its own. If the question of children comes with loss or long waiting, please look after yourself with real support from people trained to help.
