Higher Self Drawing by Hand in Pencil

A higher self drawing is the most inward of the three drawings I make. Instead of picturing someone who may arrive in your life, I draw toward you: the direction you are trying to move in, the intention you are holding, or the change you are standing in the middle of. I work in pencil on paper at my desk in Varna, and when the drawing is finished I send it to you by email as a digital image.

What a higher self drawing is

In my catalogue it is described as a symbolic portrait shaped around a personal intention, inner direction, or a moment of transition. Symbolic is the important word. I do not try to copy your face or produce a flattering likeness. While I work, faces, marks and symbols come onto the page, and I follow them. Sometimes the result is a clear figure. Sometimes it is a face surrounded by shapes that only make sense once you sit with them for a while.

My readings and my drawings grew up together, so I do not separate the two when I make this piece. I am reading while I draw. The pencil is how the reading becomes visible. That is also why I keep the work by hand, a choice I explain more fully in the journal post on why I draw by hand in pencil.

Who this drawing is for

People usually come to this drawing when something inside them is shifting and words are not quite enough. You might be leaving one way of living and not yet settled into the next. You might have made a decision and want something to look at that holds it. You might simply want a portrait that is about you rather than about another person.

It suits people who like to reflect, who keep journals or images that mean something to them, and who are comfortable with a drawing that asks for some interpretation. If you want a direct answer to a specific question, a written reading will serve you better. If your question is about family or becoming a parent, the psychic drawing of a future child is the format built for that.

It is less suited to anyone hoping for a picture of a guide, an angel or a named spirit. I do not promise any particular being will appear. What appears is what comes while I hold your intention, and I draw it as honestly as I can.

What you send me

The context for this drawing is optional. At checkout there is space for your name and for the intention you would like me to hold in the artwork. You can fill in both, one, or neither.

An intention works best when it is short and in your own words. One or two sentences about what you are moving toward, or what you are trying to let go of, gives me something steady to hold. You do not need to explain your whole situation. A long account of everything that has happened tends to pull the drawing in many directions at once, while a single clear line lets it settle.

What you receive

You receive a digital image of the finished pencil drawing, sent by email to the address you used at checkout. Please use an address you check and can open, because that is where the drawing goes. The drawing itself is graphite on paper, and the image you receive is the record of that paper drawing.

The Higher Self Drawing does not come with a written reading. The drawing is the reading. I would rather you spend time with the image and notice what you notice than have me tell you in advance what every mark means. When you open it, give it a few minutes before deciding what it is. Look at the face if there is one, then at what surrounds it, then at what is missing.

How long it takes

I complete the Higher Self Drawing within 72 hours of your order. It has a longer window than the Future Partner Portrait, and I use that time to let the symbolic work take its own pace on the page.

Every drawing is made by me personally. Nobody else draws, shades or finishes the work, which is one reason the delivery window is what it is. When it is ready, it arrives in your inbox.

What a higher self drawing cannot do

It cannot make a decision for you. If you are in the middle of a change, the drawing can sit beside you while you decide, but the deciding is yours.

It cannot replace care from a doctor, a therapist, a lawyer or a financial adviser. If the transition you are living through involves your health, your safety or your money, please speak to someone qualified in that area. My drawings are creative spiritual offerings for reflection.

It cannot promise an outcome. A symbol on the page is not a forecast that something will happen on a certain date. I am open about what drawings can and cannot show on the page asking how accurate psychic drawings are, and the same honesty applies here.

What it can do is give your intention a visible form, made slowly by hand, that you can return to. For many people that is enough, and for some it is the whole point.
